She moved from North Dakota to go on a missions trip to Africa. She liked it here. She stayed. She's cute. She's godly. She's funny. Oh, and he noticed.

And he was like, Whoa. She's cool. He was interested... annnnd she wasn't. Can you see where this is going? :) Ups and downs, no, yes and no, and then *bam!* engaged. Oh dear love.

They are really cute together and smiled the whole time. And Mariah and I couldn't stop laughing... (Shouldn't it be the other way around? We're supposed to be the ones making you smile.)

Eric, you got one amazing wife. It's no wonder you fell in love with her, she's amazing! She'll make you laugh, make you happy, make you dinner, and make you a stronger man of God. You couldn't find anyone better fit for the job.

And McKenna, you got the best husband. He is going to care for you, protect you, love you, and laugh at with you for ever. ;)

I love how happy you are together. You're different - in a good way - when you're together :) It's a sappy, lovey, happy kind of different.

Mmkay. Soooo, Mariah did some pretty awesome thinkin' and came up with our differences and similarities. They made me laugh so hard and I didn't even notice some of 'em! These are my favorites...

I part my hair on the left side, while Kaylee parts hers on the right.
We have different stature sizes (to make it simple and plain... Kaylee's short and I'm tall). :)
Kaylee likes jazz music - I don't like jazz music. Well, I like some... I'm picky. And you like Bieber. End of discussion.
Kaylee likes country music. I hate it... except Josh Turner. He's nice.
Kaylee can play the guitar, and I can't. Well, I can play a D chord. No, Mariah, I don't think that counts... you really can't play the guitar.
Kaylee thinks light-haired kids are cuter that dark-haired kids. I'm the right one in this situation. Seriously. Have you seen my baby pictures?! ;) Uh, No you're wrong. I was flipping adorable-er.
Snakes scare the pants off of me. Kaylee's the brave one who's still trying to think of an animal she's afraid of. I seriously can't think of anything.....
I've had surgery. Kaylee's hasn't. What the heck did I miss and when did you have surgery?

School - somewhat interesting, somewhat boring, somewhat educational, somewhat ridiculous. Seriously, people are worried about ME being "unsocialized" because of homeschooling. I have never met more unsocial people than at this school. Holy. Pathetic-ness.
Church - love it, of course. My favorite place to go. I love my familyyy and my God. My favorite worship song right now: How Great Thou Art. Read it, it's amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

Music - A little sad... I found out recently that my piano teacher is moving hours away. :'( Not so happy about that, but super duper happy that her husband got a job, because that's what we were praying for.
Holidays, Birthdays, Etc. - It's almost Christmas. I mean, only 86 days left! Come on! You should just give my my presents now. Also, it was Kayla and Zach's birthdays this week! In addition to that, I'm a terrible friend for not giving my friend his birthday present closer to his birthday which was about..... three months ago. Uhh, hehe. My bad. It doesn't mean I don't love you, because that would be a lie. I just want your birthday to be extra special! Yeah! That's why I'm waiting three months. Totally makes sense, right?? Yeahhh. I'm not a very good liar.
Speaking of lying... Mariah, Mrs. Maccione, and I totally pulled off the best lie of all times. We actually convinced Josh and Josh that Iah was going to dye her hair blonde. Yeah. Blonde. Like, my color hair. We showed the the dye and everything... but being the unsmart people that they are, they didn't figure it out. Haha classic. The next day, Josh Taylor and I were on the worship team and Mariah walks by the window and Josh was like, "Mariah's hair isn't blonde! You lied to me." Best lie ever. Haha
Laundry - I can't believe I'm actually making this a subject, but when there's eight loads staring at you silently pleading "folllldddd meeeeee...... fooolllllllddddd mmmmeeeeee...", you start going a little crazy in the head. And I'm feeling a little more than a little crazy.
Jobs - Nada. Zilch. Stupid companies. They don't know what they're missing. I could make them millions... of... pennies....
Happiness - Pray for me. I'm not a happy person and it makes my family unhappy with me... I want to be happy in the Lord, but lately I've been slightly more of the depressing attitude.
Right now I'm Going to - stop blogging, start reading a book and hopefully fall asleep and dream of beautiful things, like walking across a field with a plate of cookies. (Haha Becks)

Haha! This is from Celebration... I think we were like, 8 and 9 years old. I'm actually not in this picture... I don't know where I was, I just know I was laughing my head off because Kaybs was telling a scary story and said that all the children were going to die on this hayride.

Marine Biology - oh the memories. It was totally awesome that we ended up being at the same field trip location at the same time! Haha

On May 21st, my favorite Rayna got married to Sam. I was so excited to be able to go to their wedding and to be able to take pictures for them. Yes please! Sam and Rayna are so amazing and crazy, so naturally, their wedding was too. Unique, classic, crazy, orange and yellow. Absolutely Rayna.

I remember when Sam first started courting Rayna. They are the cutest couple, always holding hands and smiling at each other. And look at this picture! She's gorgeous, and she's not even trying... people like you make me sick. Just kidding, I really love you. =)

As the ladies got ready there was screaming, laughter, singing, hugs, crying, more laughing, and lots more screaming. We were all so excited. It was so beautiful listening to their moms talk about how they had always hoped that Sam and Rayna would get married. They are! They did! Dreams do come true.

In addition to being the cutest couple on the face of the earth, Sam and Rayna also have the cutest friends too. They were seriously so much fun to be with.

We went to the beach to celebrate my brother's 14th birthday. (Happy Birthday Tyler!!)

Maybe I should start with the fact that I'm starving. Literally. Mom and I started this "Juice Fast" which basically, when translated into plain knowledge is defined as: being absolutely positively miserable for four days and thinking that you're going to die and be buried and have a rather sad funeral with brownies. Yeah. Not kidding. I thought I was going to die so many times. And I. am. so. so. so. hungry. But the hunger is supposed to go away tomorrow, so I'm hoping for that. Because I just might die.

I'm going to be finishing geometry (my last subject) on June 5th. It's not much fun. It's kinda like the juice fast... I think I'm going to die. I know, I know, "glass half empty"..... (well it is, isn't it!)

I got new jeans. Just thought you'd like to know.

I have good news and bad news. What do you want to hear first? Well, really you don't have a choice at all. Bad news first.

Bad news: I HAVE NO MONEY. This is bad because it means I can't buy everything I want when I want it and I might miss the really good sales. That's the worst: missing sales. And not having money. That's worse.

Good news: I have a job. This is good because it brings in money so that I can buy things. Unfortunately, I have a few debts that I must pay before I can buy anything really, so that's first.

I want a bass guitar. I accept donations of bass guitars.

This friendly little guy is a kamodo dragon. He was about 4 1/2 feet long and he could kill you if he wanted to. They're able to take down deer in Indonesia. The tank he was in had to be kept around 100°. He seriously is a mean guy.

One of those things from Finding Nemo!! :) I can't spell it and I'm too lazy to go find it on the internet right now, so yeah. Awesome.

Meet Yama. He is a beautiful lizard. Unfortunately, I have no idea what kind of lizard he is.

But he is pretty amazing.

This is my uncle's project. He planted tons of pine trees when we lived here 10 years ago, and now they're huge! He's made pathways through them and everything. I think the plan is for the girls weddings to be here.

This is the kids' cabin. It was the old well house, but now it's got some old chairs and soda bottles and spiders.

This is my uncle's other project. Slightly more amazing. He built this whole thing... and it's beautiful. There's a bed in the loft, a desk downstairs, and old wood stove, a fireplace, a comfy chair, and lots and lots of books.

I really love this picture.

This is half of my uncle's shooting range. It's totally rad and very much improved. :) I'm planning on taking advantage of it while I'm here.

Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day and tomorrow I am flying out to Maryland. What a great day, right?! I'm so happy. I'm going to wear my new Irish shirt and I've got all my bags packed. Yes, yes, yes!

Anyway, I wanted to do some sort of fun, funky photo-shoot before I left, but it didn't happen, so we'll see what we can do up in Maryland with Michelle. :)

But that's it, I just wanted to say "Hi!" before I jump on the plane and fly away. I'll blog while I'm up there. Hopefully, I'll have lots of fun pictures when I get back. But even if I don't, I'm just so excited to see my aunt and uncle, it doesn't even matter.

Let's begin with this:

My friends are awesome. Josh and Mariah practically live with us, they're here so much. It's so much fun when they're around!!

This is my most recent Amazon purchase. The Lyricist's Notebook. It's so amazing. I haven't written anything in it yet, but I have a few that I'm going to copy over, one that I'm going to start working on again is called Sanctus Est Deo. A bit of it is in Latin... I love singing in Latin.

Next in line is my secret project that I did last Saturday: While Dad and Mom were at the Marriage Retreat I painted the downstairs bathroom for them. I had fun because I really like painting and I watched That Thing You Do! while I did it.

I love walking by it and seeing the bright, sunny yellow paint. It's a very happy color. Mom was surprised... meaning she knew as soon as she walked inside the back door. :] she always does that.

I love the Glee cast's recording of Don't Stop Believin' (and their other songs) I've never seen the show (Any idea if it's any good?) but I love the soundtrack.

Now that it's February I'm full-swing back into school. My calendar is so flippin' crazy, like, you have no idea.

And then you add these little "friends" to your life and it leaves barely any time for sanity. Wait, sanity? What is that? How does it feel to be sane? I don't even remember...

This thing is my spring semester schedule. It doesn't look as hectic as it feels. Every horizontal line (that's this way: <--->) is one week. Every vertical line (that's this way: /\) is a subject. So, first section, English. I'll be finishing that in March. *happy dance* 2nd section, Geometry. 3rd-kinda-empty-section, French. I've yet to start my 2nd swing at that. It's killing me. 4th, final section, Reading. I hate to say this, but the reading that my english class makes me do is rather boring... so I'm throwing my own spin on it. At least for this week... I'm supposed to be reading the traditional Pride and Prejudice, but instead I'm reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. hehehe. It's quite inspirational... I mean, Elizabeth Bennett keeps a knife around her ankle and is trained in a kick-boxing self-defense thing. It's hilarious.

Yet, under all this yellow paint, leaves, lyrics, and zombies, there is me and I'm sick as of yesterday with who-knows-what. I'm getting rather weary of being sick, as it has become a more frequent thing over the past few months. I've been sick at least once each month since November.

God is my hope. I cannot hope in health. Or money. Or friends. Or government. I can only hope and trust in God. He is my rock and foundation.

Last night at small group I was so affected by the song It is Well and as everyone was standing and singing, I sat on the couch reading the lyrics and preaching them to myself.

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,

This is a good story, I can promise you that! So. Justin asked me to take some head shots for some friends who I thought, one of which, he said was his cousin. He later came by with them and to my surprise and absolute delight it was my cousin he brought! Oh wow. I was so happy. =) My cousin Michelle lives in Maryland and I will be visiting our aunt and uncle in March. (another exciting thing!) I'm so stoked, it's going to be amazing. I get to see so many amazing people in one week, I think I might scream. (By the by, we're not really technically cousins... but I don't really care... so there.)

Anyway, I kinda freaked out a little bit, then said hi, then we drove to Fox Lake to get some good shots. How 'bout some background. Nicole, Allegra, and Michelle have "Zangla" in their blood... that means they all talk in the same exact, loud, hilarious way. I love it. Just listening to Michelle was like listening to Aunt Diana. But anywho, we had a lot of fun and I haven't laughed that much in a long long long time! I'm so excited to go spend MORE time with them!

So in all the random things have have been going on there's been a few "normal" things too, but not many...

School... is keeping me busy and making me pull all-nighters this week. My schedule for today, tuesday and wednesday looks like this: Geometry lessons 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, & 47, and test 6; Ireland's St. Columba paper, English midterm exam; and a chapter of piano theory. My goal - to finish all of this before Thanksgiving. My reality - I probably won't get anything done at all.
Events... there are so many! Halloween has come and gone (and I had a great time), Thanksgiving is almost here and Christmas is almost, almost here. We have our church-wide Christmas party (You must come!) on Dec. 6th (Sun.) at 5pm at Cocoa Village with ice skating and food and a movie outside. It's going to be amazing and you really should come. :) Then there's Metro's Wonder cantata on Dec. 10th (Thurs.) that you should go to because we're going and it's going to be really fun. :) Then there's the Daytona Christmas Bash that I want to go to on Dec. 11th and then the Resolved Christmas Party on Dec. 12th, and then I'm going to drop dead and not get any presents because I've been running back and forth from Orlando to Daytona to Titusville to Daytona to Titusville, etc.
God... is amazing. I've never been good with having a quiet time with God but lately it's really be showing that I need to spend time in His word. In the past I've been able to get by and not worry about it too much but now with school and relationships and every-day life, I need wisdom! I'm working harder at making time in my day for that, but pray for me because I am jealous for your prayers. Also, pray that I'll have wisdom in some areas of my life that are not very wisdom-filled at the moment. Without saying too much about it, I have to confront someone about something and I just want it to go well.
Photography... is so much fun! I'm building a friendship with Brittney and her husband (check them out here). They asked me if I wanted to help them with an Orlando Soccer Club photo gig a few weeks ago where they took "kid with a soccer ball" photos and team photos. It was such a great opportunity for me just to watch them and I had a great time getting to know them. They're really easy going and fun to be around and I'm excited to get to know them better. Later tonight I'm going with Brittney to our first newborn shoot. I'm excited to be learning more from them. :D
Music... is a challenge. I was working on some complex Christmas stuff that was trying to blow up my brain! It's starting to sound really good now though. And I just finished an Irish piece called The Laird of Lothian and it's beautiful and amazing and Irish. I also got recently inspired on Saturday night because Mariah and I went to see Celtic Thunder in concert at the Amway Arena in Orlando. It was the most amazing thing ever and I was smiling the whole time. They have ahhhh-mazing voices. So I've been singing a lot of their stuff, and Christmas music and random music from my project playlist :)

I think that's it for now.

Many of you know (but some of you don't) that I moved downstairs last month. Actually, I moved into the dining room. I know it's weird, but I love it! It's like, half the size of my old bedroom, but it's a lot easier to keep clean.

The reason for my moving is because McKenna moved in with us! :D *cheering* Yeah, I was happy to give up my room for her... plus, I got new furniture from IKEA. It was an easy trade. Anyway, most of you haven't seen it, or my old room... or my house! So, here's my new room. :)

So little time... We all know the expression and say it every once in a while. It's a familiar phrase that runs through my head (very) often now-a-days. For example... i have seventeen post-it notes in my room with things to do like...

_ hem curtains

_ make pillows

_ de-clutter

_ clean bedroom

_ clean living room

_ fold and put away 5-7 loads of laundry

_ mop the floors

_ buy a lamp by the bed

_ buy an awesome dirt devil vacuum

_ buy carpet

_ buy a trash can

_ buy a mirror

_ get a new cd case

_ find new shorts

_ find some white and black t-shirts

_ buy khaki pants

_call Brittany B. about photos

_ have Patience

_ have Joy

_ have Kindness

_ have Humility

_ remember that sanctification requires trials.

_ save for a trip home (to Maryland)

_ ask Mom and Dad - FIRST!

And a few have random scriptures on them like Romans 8:31 and Proverbs 12:1... but anyway, I'm telling you all of this because I've realized that these post-it notes have the incredible power to encourage you! The ones that read, "Patience, Joy, Kindness, and Humility" have helped me... actually it's really God who's been helping me, but you know what I mean... anyway God's helped me realize that I don't have to be impatient in a situation, I can be patient and kind. When my brother's driving me crazy I can look at these notes and recall that kindness is better than getting upset and angry. It's just really served me and I thought I'd share it with you.

When I first walked in my jaw dropped. "Oh my gosh! Dad!!! It's all... retro?! No way!" The whole main street and pretty much all the stores and some of the rides were retro inspired. I was like, Seriously? You've got to be kidding me.

This...is...Indiana...Jones! Heck yes. He was cool. And stuff blew up when he got near it. Yeah, he's just cool like that.

This man, well, he kind of, was on fire. But he's probably fine, they covered him in fire extinguisher stuff.

We saw AMERICAN IDOL. omg... it was... american...i...d...o...l...!!!

The Fantasmic show. Much evil laughter, not good for small children. =D

I spent yesterday at St. Augustine, walking the streets and looking in the shops. I got to go to the Irish shop, which was very quaint and just where I wanted to go. I also went inside the Bubble Gum Emporium, which was swell. I hope I can go back and take more pictures... There was a peachy jukebox at the Emporium. It didn't work, but it had a bunch of old songs in it. I got a lot of pictures, but not everything I wanted. =) There were a lot of interesting people there... even some street musicians, but not as many as usual, because it was rather cold out. I'm hoping I can go back before Christmas...

Yes. That is a baseball bat. Let me explain something real quick. I am not abandoning soccer, so don't say that I am. I am not being brainwashed, because I'm not.

Tanner has become recently infatuated with baseball. No idea how long it'll last, but while it's here, it's strong. He's already gone out twice today to play with his "Baseball Set" and hit the spongy, nerf-like softball across the yard... he's hit it into the neighbors yard twice already.

He loves it. I love it. It's funny to watch him play. He actually hits the ball... better than I ever could. :P Don't blame the Nugents... it was bound to happen. My father couldn't keep up the traditional Merwin's love of soccer... it had to end some time. :)

We're having so much fun here that we decided not to come home until Sunday night or Monday morning... Unfortunately that means I can't go to Blue Springs...

... but I'm learning a lot about my new camera...

...I've figured out how to use the self-timer, which is good news...

The view is amazing out here. I wish every single one of you were here right now!

On the left side of the house there are some really pretty flowers. Most of them are dead now, but these aren't. :)

On a side note: Since my camera is so awesome, the pictures look megapixel-y on here, but that's just because they're really big, so they look better if you click on them.

Amelia Island

For those of you who don't know, we are currently on vacation in an amazing beach house on Amelia Island. It's an amazing house, right on the beach... I love it here. The beach is aaaaahhh-mazing. :)

Okay, this is one HOT car right? OMG, it was wayyyyy better in real life! Haha I let dad know (several times) that I would be okay with getting it for my birthday...

I wish I played this, but there was music on, so I couldn't... But it was beautiful and perfect and looked like it would be in heaven.

Awesome right? Better in real life... It was like, a real, honest to goodness, retro truck. Gosh, what could be better?

I told Tanner to make a silly face and then I gave him an example and THIS is what I got? Where's the respect, I ask you?

The Irish shop... I think I'm going to go back tomorrow. I could live there, I really could. It was sooooo amazing...

So "Nugent" is on this list of Irish family names... I was jumping up and down and kinda freaking out, even though I knew it would be on there. LOL

This is a letter that someone wrote the owner of the beach house... I love her handwriting... slightly jealous! :)
